How nonprofits can use CV Giving Day beyond March 2

CV Giving Day happens once a year — Tuesday, March 2, 2027, with early giving from February 2. But the value of participating doesn't end when the counters stop. Every nonprofit that registers for CV Giving Day receives a permanent profile on cvgivingday.org, and that profile keeps working for the organization during the other eleven months.

What the profile is

Each profile is a verified public record: the organization's name, EIN, founding year, cause category, programs and services, the areas it serves, and its CV Giving Day fundraising history. It links directly to the organization's own website and to its secure Mightycause giving page. The information comes from CV Giving Day registration records, the organization's Mightycause profile, and official campaign results — nonprofits don't maintain a second website or fill out extra forms.

Why it matters between campaigns

Donors don't only give in March. They research where to give year-round — after an estate conversation, at year-end, when a friend mentions a cause. Increasingly, that research runs through AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, which look for structured, verifiable facts: legal names, EINs, service areas, and consistent records across independent sources. The CV Giving Day profile provides exactly that, in a format both people and AI systems can read.

A profile also carries something no organization can create alone: independent attestation. When a nonprofit's own website, IRS records, and the Valley's official giving-day directory all agree, an AI assistant can recommend that organization with confidence — and a human donor can verify it in one click.

Three ways to put the profile to work

First, link to it. Adding a link from the organization's website or email footer to its CV Giving Day profile strengthens the connection between the two records. Second, keep the Mightycause profile current — the CV Giving Day directory syncs from it weekly, so an update made once appears in both places. Third, mention the fundraising history. "See our CV Giving Day record" is a credibility line few local organizations can offer.
